About Erlend Mortensen

Erlend Mortensen (b. 1998), known as Erlendo, is a Norwegian artist based in Oslo/Alta. His intricate works balance narrative elements through perspective and symmetry, featuring vibrant colors. He’s influenced by pop art as well as a painting style inspired by the Renaissance. This results in an expression described as «Narrative Pop-Art Teeming Pictures».
Central themes found in his pieces include human nature, love, hate, life, and death, with a particular focus on the complexities of conflict, questioning the necessity of war.
Erlendo works primarily in mixed media—using markers, paint, and collage—completing each piece by hand before applying subtle digital enhancements, resulting in Digital Graphic Artwork (DGA).
